TRICIA MARLOWE~French Farmacie & Fries

FRENCH FARMACIE~ BRAND LOVE

Tricia Marlowe~Brand Founder & CEO of French Farmacie sharing her fertility story, the importance of sleep and Sunday Mornings~

Although we have never met in person, I am certain we would be great friends. I hope we can stroll the streets of Paris one day looking for the perfect plate of Pommes frites.

As a Makeup Artist, I get the opportunity to try a lot of brands and I am in LOVE with this brand FRENCH FARMACIE and I hope you will be too...

1. YOUR STORY~

After years of struggling with infertility, including multiple rounds of IVF and, unfortunately, some miscarriages, I really started to question what I was putting in and on my body. This led to researching ingredients and eliminating things that didn’t serve me, including a complicated skincare routine. As my interest grew, I leaned into my background in healthcare and partnered with a Harvard chemist to develop science-driven formulations. Along my journey, a life-changing trip to Indonesia opened my eyes to the ocean plastic pollution crisis and its effect on front-line communities. I knew that if I was going to bring a brand into this world, we needed to commit to a positive social and environmental impact. From there, French Farmacie was born — consciously crafted skincare combining results-driven ingredients with a genuine dedication to having a softer impact on the environment.

French Farmacie pays homage to the French and their simple "skin-first" routines, which served as inspiration when creating our hero products Élixir Exfoliant and Sérum Radiant. It’s the secret to the French sense of je ne sais quoi — a philosophy that favors pared-down minimalism and classic simplicity. Our approach centers around reducing complicated steps and unnecessary ingredients to find balance, ease, and a natural glow.

2. SUNDAY MORNINGS?

I love taking time on Sundays to lean into rituals that help me come back to myself, including taking a walk in nature and doing my full French Farmacie ritual.

3. BEAUTY SECRETS?

Sleep! I have always prioritized sleep, even when working in Corporate America. All the skincare in the world won’t work if we’re not sleeping enough. Lack of quality sleep affects skin’s pH levels, which lowers the moisture level and depletes your natural glow.

4. ZEN ZONE?

Moving my body daily through Pilates and Yoga is a must to keep me centered and grounded.

5. INSPIRATION?

I love gaining inspiration from other women who are doing cool things. I think it’s important to surround yourself with people who lift you up and inspire you with positive energy.

6. GUILTY PLEASURE?

Potato chips or fries. I try not to eat them often because when I do, I can’t help myself. But hey ho, enjoying life and moderation is key.

7. BOOKSHELF?

I hate to admit that there are many books on my shelves that I haven’t cracked open yet, so recently, I picked back up “All The Light We Cannot See” by Anthony Doerr.

8. SCENT MEMORY?

When I was younger, my family spent time on the Outer Banks in the Summer, so the smell of the ocean always brings me back.

9. WANDERLUST?

When I traveled to Barcelona, one of my favorite cities, for work or pleasure, I loved visiting the charming neighborhood El Born, with its narrow streets, boutiques, cafes, and restaurants. The Picasso Museum is also a highlight. Sadly as I started to list a couple of cafes, a few were gone due to the Pandemic, but the neighborhood is still thriving and worth a visit if in Barcelona.

10. BEAUTY/ STYLE MUSE?

French Farmacie pays homage to the French and their less-is-more approach to life. I love Caroline de Maigret, Tina Kunakey, Emmanuelle Alt, to name a few. But to be honest, scrolling through images of everyday classic and timeless Parisian street style (or seeing in real life, of course) gives me tons of inspiration.

11. MULTI ~MASKING ?

I love multi-tasking with a beauty mask on, so I’ll put on Élixir Exfoliant, do dry brushing, hop in a warm bath, and listen to a podcast.

12. WHEN DO YOU FEEL MOST BEAUTIFUL?

I feel most beautiful when I’m taking really good care of myself physically and mentally. Also, after all my hardships with infertility, the journey of creating French Farmacie has taught me the meaning of accepting myself and finding the beauty of being at ease.

13. CURRENTLY DAYDREAMING?

One of my little dreams with French Farmacie has been to hear of a celebrity mention they use it, and crazy enough, British-American actress Lucy Boynton recently shared her love of Élixir Exfoliant with Harper’s Bazaar UK! My jaw dropped as it was totally unexpected.

CAROLINE DHAVERNAS~ Lipstick, Surf & Oysters

CAROLINE DHAVERNAS~ACTRESS

I recently interviewed my lovely friend Caroline. You know her from Hannibal & Mary Kills People. We worked together ten years ago on Off the Map in Hawaii and became forever friends. We've had countless adventures traveling, hiking, surfing and laughing until our bellies ache. Here she shares with us her lipstick obsession, Montreal hangouts and the art of Zen~surfing.

1. CURRENT OBSESSIONS?

How beautiful a cloud of smoke looks....

2. MOST COVETED PRODUCTS FROM DAYDREAMERS collective?

Denise and I have spent so much time together in Hawaii so I have to say her SUMMER collection for all of our beach essentials.

3. DESERT ISLAND?
A live Cuban band made of hot salsa dancing Cubans.

4. HAIR DO?
The ocean air is the best tool! Nothing to be done! Kind of perfect for the day when I will be stuck on the desert island with the hot Cubans, cause you know, no electricity and all...

5. BEAUTY RITUAL?

Hot pink lips for hiking days with Denise.

6. ON THE MENU?
East Coast (represent!) oysters. Apparently my mother craved them when she was pregnant with me. That's probably when the love story started. I could eat oysters every day and never get bored with them.

7. SCENT MEMORY?
As a kid, I loved to draw with a purple violet scented crayon and whenever I smell that flower in a perfume or cosmetics, it takes me straight back to those blissful moments where nothing else existed in the world but you, the paper and the exciting possibilities of color. Scent is the most intriguing and mysterious sense.

8. ALTER EGO?
Professional champagne drinker.

9. ROAD TRIP?
Driving from Montreal to the Magdalen Islands (Îles de la Madeleine). I'm usually not big on road trips since sitting still drives me bonkers, but this drive is so beautiful and includes ferries from which you can see whales, so what the heck, a little madness never killed anyone.

10. BUCKET LIST?
French kissing with an amazing kisser. When that chemistry lights up, holy smokes, that's what life is about.

11. ZEN ZONE?
Thinking about surfing.

12. COLOR INSPIRATION?
Periwinkle blue and burgundy, side by side, makes the hairs on my arms stand up like an encore.

13. BEAUTY SPLURGE?
I just bought a crazy Chanel lipstick, Rouge Allure Ink in 212 Metallic purple

14. BOOKSHELF?

Chroniques du hasard by Elena Ferrante, an Italian writer.

15. HOTEL CRUSH?

Salt in Greece, on Milos Island.

16. LOCAL GUIDE~MONTREAL

La Binerie: For breakfast or brunch. An institution in Montreal. The restaurant has been around for 81 years and offers a unique experience of Quebec's culture and typical comfort food.
Les Rapides Park: a migratory bird sanctuary in the city by the water. A beautiful walk in the spring to see mother bird and her younglings on the river.
Gypsy: Café/bar. I go there to read scripts and work on my computer. I love the restaurant's design and the food is great.
❥Byblos: Iranian café, amazing food, filled with light. Feta and dill scambled eggs with fresh mint tea...YUM! They also have a trunk filled with toys for kids in the back: very fun and practical.
L'Express: another institution in Montreal, classical French bistro. The quality and service are impeccable.
Le Mousso: One of the best tables in Montreal.

DEBRA FERULLO~ Birkenstocks & Beauty hacks

DEBRA FERULLO~CELEBRITY MAKEUP ARTIST

Debra is the epitome of bohemian cool. She is incredibly down to earth and an amazing makeup artist. Her signature flawless glow can be seen on ~ Drew Barrymore, Kate Hudson, Gwyneth Paltrow, Cindy Crawford.. and that is just the short list. Here she shares makeup tips, style and her lack of a bucket list.

1.  BEAUTY/STYLE MUSE?
I don't really have one. I just love beauty in all its shapes and form. You can find inspiration anywhere and who knows why or what triggers that in oneself.

2. CURRENT OBSESSIONS?
Glossier Future Dew

3. MOST COVETED PRODUCTS FROM DAYDREAMERS collective?

I am very fond of the Honeycomb Apothecary jars.

4. STRANDED ON A DESERT ISLAND ?
I'd probably just die.

5. BEAUTY RITUAL?

It's funny in my twenties and thirties when I didn't really need makeup I wore it every day. Now that I'm in my 40's, I only where it when I'm working. I will add a little concealer where needed, two coats of mascara and a lip balm. However, I am all about skin care and sunscreen (currently obsessed with Christine Chin)  I love La Mer's Lifting and Firming mask. It's the only thing that I think makes a difference!!

6. ROAD TRIP?
I'm not a big traveler (except for work) but I would love to do Montana and Alaska in the summer. I've spent a winter there on a movie, but never a summer and I'd love to see it then!

7. ZEN ZONE?

I love going to the movies by myself. Always have!

8. MAKEUP TIPS?
Skin. Get it right and the rest is easy. I'm also a big fan of cream contours. I think they look so much more natural, but you can still create great angles and depth or you can even just warm up the skin tone with them. Beauty trick~use a darker foundation stick (Makeup-forever is a fav) as a contour instead of powder. Choose a color deeper than your normal foundation and contour where needed.

9. DAILY STYLE?

Birkenstocks!! But way before the current obsession. I went to the University of Maine where the tag line was "The school that goes crunch". There was no way around not owning a pair of Birkenstocks. To this day I haven't been able to give them up! I also wear no color~just black, white or grey

10. BUCKET LIST?~

I don't have one...is that weird?

You can find Debra doing her natural glow thing here~

RACHELLE LEFEVRE~ Beauty, Airstreams & french fries

RACHELLE LEFEVRE~Actress

Rachelle ~ An animal lover, foodie, beauty lover, charcuterie master and all around extraordinary friend. Rachelle and I love to wander aimlessly down Abbott Kinney in Venice, ponder life, share thoughts on our entrepreneurial daydreams and share our LOVE for delicious eats along the way. We call these days our Amnesia Days when nothing else matters but this moment in time.

1. BEAUTY MUSE?
Lauren Hutton & Charlotte Rampling. I love women who don't take themselves too seriously, aren't afraid to age and always seem to wear their spirit on their face. Knowing who you are and accepting who you aren't- when that comes through, nothing is more beautiful.

2. CURRENT OBSESSIONS?
Indie magazines like "oh comely," "Darling," "Sweet Paul" and of course, "Kinfolk." I love the originality and uniqueness of content and the photos & illustrations are always amazing.

3. FAVORITE CAUSE?
Best Friends Animal Society. They rescue animals, run a sanctuary, lobby for animal protection laws and also work to make shelters "no kill" so homeless animals don't get euthanized. I've been a spokesperson for them since 2009 and I couldn't be prouder of the work they do.

4. MOST COVETED PRODUCTS FROM DAYDREAMERS collective?

Wake up, wash face, Clé de Peau SPF 50 (without fail!), and Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer.

8. ON THE MENU?
I live for Poutine (French fries, cheese curds and gravy) but it has to come from my hometown, Montreal, it just never tastes the same anywhere else. For a healthy fave I feel like everyone in LA always says "green juices" but I actually love them. They're also a great way to wash away the guilt, I mean, wash down an apple fritter.

9. SCENT MEMORY?
Calvin Klein's Escape reminds me of every cute boy I crushed on in high school. They must have passed it around in the locker room or something because they ALL wore it.

11. ALTER EGO?

I love being an actor but lately I have felt the pull towards creating events that encourage more community & support among women for a while now. Not sure how that will play out- I'm in the brainstorming phase of, "How do I make this passion less abstract and into an actual dream I can pursue?"

Zac Brown Band's "Homegrown" on repeat.

13. BEAUTY CABINET?
